It has emerged that someone in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is behind the controversial leaked tape of National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
According to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the meeting which lasted more than two hours was recorded and sold to the NPP.
The mole who sold out the NDC Chairman, he claimed is the National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.
Chairman Wontumi as he is popularly called alleged that, the NDC man also shared the audio recording with his friends in the NPP.
“These tapes are very worrying and dangerous and should be condemned. I see it to be treason and should not be entertained. I can boldly tell you that Sammy Gyamfi recorded that tape and leaked it to the NPP. He has friends in the party and so they should question him” he said on Accra based Okay FM.
In a meeting held at the party’s headquarters, the National Chairman of the opposition party was heard admitting to the importation of the Azorka Boys to cause mayhem during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
Mr. Ofosu-Ampofoh is also heard encouraging his party members to unleash venom on Mrs. Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
In the same audio, the elder of the Church of Pentecost can be audibly heard urging the party’s communicators to descend heavily on the Chairman of the Peace Council.
Tongues have started wagging as to who recorded the voices and leaked the same to the NPP.
But Mr. Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi claimed Sammy Gyamfi has stabbed the party in the back.
According to him, Mr. Gyamfi, who has friends with some key figures within government circles, leaked the audios to a close pal of his in government.
Though the Ghana Police Service has invited Chairman, Ofosu Ampofo, following his leaked audio, Chairman Wontumi believes he should be prosecuted immediately.
